Health Guarantee
Outline of Details
- Breeder (us), Buyer (new owner) and puppy/dog are identified in writing.
- Purchase price is written out, payment details, etc.
- Puppy's intended purposes are check marked. (Pet/Family Guardian, Livestock Guardian, Show Prospect, Breeding Prospect)
- Limited and Full AKC registration is explained.
- Recommended books are given by title and author, and where to find them.
- New owner is encouraged to contact us with any questions throughout the life of the dog.
- Puppies generally receive their first vaccination around 6 weeks of age and are guaranteed to have been given at least two "puppy vaccinations" before going to their new home. (We prefer to keep the pups together with their siblings and mother until ten weeks of age. Under the right circumstances, they may go to their new homes at eight weeks of age. However, puppies will not leave here before eight weeks of age, no exceptions.)
- Puppies generally receive their first deworming around 2 weeks of age and are guaranteed to have undergone at least two courses of worming, though they're always wormed more than that. They're wormed with Pyrantel and Panacur/Safeguard (unless the vet would decide on something different) every two weeks until leaving, and new owners are encouraged to continue a regular worming schedule.
- New owner is asked to take puppy to their veterinarian within seven consecutive days. In the unlikely event puppy is found to be in ill health, we must be contacted immediately and puppy can be returned for a full refund or replacement with another puppy. Breeder reserves the right to refund the purchase price instead of replacing with another puppy. New owner must return the original puppy and the puppy's registration papers before/at time of refund or replacement.
- Guaranteed against hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, elbow dysplasia, congenital cataracts and juvenile cataracts for the first thirty-six-months of dog’s life. Hips and elbows cannot be OFA certified until 24 months so an additional year is provided. OFA or OFA ECR must confirm one of these conditions for replacement. The dog must not be spayed/neutered prior to 26 months of age due to growth hormones and growth plates. If OFA confirms one of these conditions, dog must then be spayed/neutered before replacement. Owner may keep original dog or return to us.
